And this stress can be hard on us individually as well as our relationships with friends and family members! But there is no reason why the holidays need to be stressful: they should really be about celebrating what’s special in our lives with those we love most!
Over the past 20 years, in our house, we have focused more on when we can get together as our small family than the actual day. We live away from extended family and many holidays in the past we traveled to them. As grandchildren have joined our family, we are starting to stay home for the holidays and transferring the excitement of seeing extended family at other times and enjoying that time
