Hamburger Sliders
Hamburger sliders are small hamburgers that can be served as appetizers or a meal. Sliders are great for Super Bowl because they’re easy to eat and you can have several different varieties of meat on them depending on your guests’ preferences.
Ingredients:
– 1 pound ground beef
– ½ cup finely chopped onion
– 1 teaspoon salt
– ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
– About 2 tablespoons butter, divided
– 12 slider buns, such as Hawaiian sweet rolls or dinner rolls
– Grated cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Mix the beef, onion, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Form into 12 small hamburgers, about 3 ounces each.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add 1 tablespoon of butter to the pan. When it’s melted, add half of the sliders and cook until browned on one side, about 2 minutes. Flip them over and cook for 2 more minutes. Remove to a plate, then cover with foil to keep warm. Add another tablespoon of butter to the pan and cook the remaining sliders.
3. While sliders are cooking, prepare your buns by slicing them in half horizontally.
4. Place the bottom halves of the buns onto a baking sheet or large tray (seasoned cast-iron works if you have it).
5. Place a slider on each bun half, add some grated cheddar cheese and place the top halves of buns back onto the sliders.
6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or so to warm the buns thru and melt the cheese. It is best served immediately while warm.
